LoneWorker™ - OVERVIEW
With a significant
increase in the number of employees working alone, outside normal
working hours, away from their employer's premises or in potentially
hazardous situations, comes the concern of how to meet employee
safety needs. This is an important and pressing issue for managers
across all levels and all industries.
eziTracker LoneWorker™ is specifically designed to assist
managers ensure the safety and welfare of lone workers and comply
with HSE legislation.
How it works
When starting a new schedule, the employee calls the system,
and after PIN verification:
- leaves a voice
message detailing their work
plan for the schedule and
- enters the estimated
time of completion
During the schedule, the employee may call
the system to:
- revise the schedule and/or expected duration or
- enter star (*)
immediately after the PIN number to raise a DISTRESS
ALERT, or
- optionally press a pre-designated
speed dial button
on either their mobile phone or land line telephone to raise
a DISTRESS ALERT
At the end of the schedule, and at a
safe location, the employee calls eziTracker LoneWorker™
to complete the schedule. In the event that a lone worker fails
to log out of a schedule, or should the employee activate a DISTRESS
ALERT, detailed ALERT
text and email messages will be sent to pre-defined recipients. This allows
the manager or person(s) responsible for the employee's safety
to take immediate and appropriate action.
The ALERT or DISTRESS ALERT is configured to meet individual
company requirements, but, as an example, may include:
- the employees
PIN number
- the site
reference number and/or telephone
number of the last successful
call to eziTracker LoneWorker™
- the contents of the employee's
three custom files. For example, one of these fields may
be used to hold the employee's vehicle
details, another their mobile
phone number or perhaps if the
employee has a medical condition,
such as Diabetes, this may be an appropriate custom field
